FACEBOOK

Moxie Trades has started to use Facebook to communicate information on a regular basis. We have called out to our tradeswomen for feedback on our product development for Fall 2010 and have made some key decisions. Our goal is to listen to the women we cater too so that we can satisfy the gap in the market. Our goal is to provide the best products, best marketing and best customer service. We will also have facebook running live during business hours so if you would like to chat with either Tracy, Vicki or Marissa you can have instant access to one of us during that time.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
This month, I would like to take the opportunity to highlight our Habitat for Humanity Canada partnership. We have been working on this for a couple of years now and in 2010, I am excited to announce that Moxie Trades is committed to raising $100,000.00 to put towards our first Habitat home in Canada! We're really looking to our fans to rally around this wonderful cause and prove that when women come together, things get done.

Overall I believe that Habitat for Humanity is a charity that found me. With the philosophies I have founded Moxie Trades on, I firmly believe that the roots of our company have been about the empowerment of women who wear work boots. We swing hammers, we sweat, and together we are empowered to get the job done. In a country where 51% of single mothers struggle to afford basic housing, we want to help. Interesting enough, 60% of Habitat's volunteers are also women, and this is a great way to focus the issue and empower a workforce. Women for women. Through my own volunteer efforts, I've learned that these women on habitat build sites are Moxie's biggest fans. I'm thrilled to be part of such a great group and it is my aim to be a winning ambassador for Habitat years to come.
For those of you who don't know, Habitat for Humanity Canada has built safe, affordable housing for more than 1600 families since 1985. But their story is not simply about the houses they build, but about the homes and lives they touch. The Home Ownership Program helps low income families buy simple, healthy and affordable homes that they pay for and maintain. It's a hand up and not a hand out. Together we have the potential to break the cycle of poverty one home at a time, starting with our first Moxie Trades home.
So help us build a home. There will be many ways to participate and we will follow-up with some great fundraising ideas; but initially sign-up with your own web page and tell all your friends and family about us and our shared goal. If you raise over $250.00, you can swing a hammer on the house that Moxie Trades builds. We will sign the wood that holds the house together so your imprint will always be there. We will have women only days on our house so we will build together.

Last Month's Winners
Last month, we were looking for the names for one of the new styles of work boots coming out this Fall.
Barb Gordon emailed us the name "LOTUS" A lotus is a flower that grows up from the mud (against all odds) to become a beautiful flower!
Janis Kennedy emailed us with the name "AMELIA" after Amelia Earhart.
The Moxie Team loved these names so that much that we coudn't decide between the two so we are naming two shoes from this contest.
Thank you to Barb and Janis for contributing to our Fall Collection. Wait till you get your boots you are going to love them!
