Many of us live in areas where the water is hard. When you have hard water you end up with limescale on pretty much anything that comes in contact with your water. Limescale is that white crusty stuff you see around your faucets and appliances that use water. If you leave the limescale there it will start to corrode your fixtures and your appliances will clog up and not work right any more. No one wants limescale in their coffee!! Here are a few chemical free bathroom cleaning hacks using vinegar and lemon juice that should do the trick and get rid of the white crusty mess of limescale build up.

Vinegar In Your Toilet

Take your vinegar and put a it into a the toilet bowl and let it sit in there for at least 30 minutes. If you have lots of limescale built up you can even leave it in there over night. When that nasty limescale as softened up you use your toilet brush to scrub it away. Don’t forget to flush a few times so you can see if you got it all off.

Vinegar For Your Shower Head For More Spray Action

Remove your shower head and place it in a blow of vinegar Let it soak overnight and rinse it off with water. If your shower head doesn’t come off you can put the vinegar in a zip lock bag and wrap an elastic band to hold it around the shower heard. You’ll probably notice that you’ll have better spray coming out of the shower head once it’s clean.

Vinegar for Faucets

Have you noticed that limescale has accumulated around your faucet? To take care of that you soak some paper towels in the vinegar and fold it around the faucet. Leave it for an hour and then you should be able to just wipe off that limescale with a dry paper towel or cloth.

Vinegar to Clean Your Coffee Maker

Where you put water in to make coffee add two cups of vinegar and two cups of water and run the coffee maker as if you were making coffee ( minus the beans of course) and once it’s finished wash the coffee pot out with soap and water. Put clean water in the machine and run it through another brewing cycle to remove the vinegar from the machine.

Vinegar Cleans Kettles

So the same as with your coffee maker. Put two cups of vinegar and fill the rest of the kettle with water. Turn the kettle on until it boils and let sit for 30 min. after the boil point. Rinse out with clean water.

Lemon Up Your Tub

Take your lemon juice and put it into a spray bottle. Spray the areas of the tub that have dirty build up. Let that sit for about half an hour. Re-spray that tub every 15 minutes so the tub does not dry out, then clean the tub with clean water and a cloth or sponge. You can do the same thing using vinegar.  If your tub has limescale do that same as your faucet. Soak some paper towels and lay it over the limescale and let site for half an hour and then wipe it off.
